Pavilion Labour at FMH Open Day

  • 20 July 2019 10:00 - 16:00
  • Friends Meeting House, Ship St, Brighton BN1 1AF, UK

Pavilion Labour always celebrates diversity and, as part of Trans Pride weekend, our stall at Friends' Meeting House (FMH) Open Day will prominently feature our lead campaigns this year - trans equality and support for trans people, scrap the Tories' disastrous Universal Credit, support for disabled people's rights, and zero tolerance of any form of abuse based on ignorance, prejudice or hate. FMH Open Day runs from 10am to 4pm so anyone not fully occupied with Trans Pride will be a very welcome volunteer to help on our stall. Please email treasurer@pavilionlabour.org.uk with your name, membership number (if you have it to hand) and when you'll be available. We're sure that you can squeeze in both, so hope to see you at FMH on the 20th.

Pavilion Older Members' Forum

  • 25 July 2019 10:30 - 12:30
  • Phoenix Community Centre, 2 Phoenix Place, Brighton BN2 9ND, UK

Pavilion Labour's Older Members' Forum is having another Coffee Morning. Meet-up with Ty, Sara, Penny and many other older members in the ground floor of the Phoenix Community Centre, 2 Phoenix Place, Brighton BN2 9NB. We are trying this new venue which is the red brick building just east of the Lewes Road opposite St Peter's Church - see https://bit.ly/2Y6kAVA . We are really pleased that Sue Beatty, UNISON Branch Secretary at Brighton & Hove City Council has kindly offered to join us to speak about the cuts which have taken place to adult social care and the need to protect our remaining services for older people. All older members of Pavilion Labour are welcome, as are friends from across Brighton and Hove. Many of us find it difficult to say who is an older member, but anyone over 50 will be very welcome to come along and join in the conversation. The views of older people, and the impact of government policies on all older people, must be heard and represented, both in our Party and in wider society. Come along and get involved to help us with this.

Labour and Proud - Pavilion stalls at Brighton Pride

  • 3 August 2019 11:00 - 16:00
  • 17 London Rd, Brighton BN1 4JA, UK

Pavilion Labour is #LabourAndProud! We'll be celebrating diversity and enjoying the fun with tens of thousands of partygoers expected in Brighton & Hove for Brighton Pride on Saturday 3 August. Join-in the fun and join us campaigning for equality along the London Road. Brighton Pride is always very colourful and very busy. If you can, please wear red if you are coming along to join us. As in previous years, different teams will be based at two main locations along the London Road. Everything starts getting busy from about 11am and continues until the Pride Parade and partygoers have passed by on their way to Preston Park. Wave to us from the Parade, stop to say hello, or stay for as long as you like. Come early if you want to be part of our advance teams setting everything up - one or two will get started before 8am. All friends welcome! Email your Branch Secretary or treasurer@pavilionlabour.org.uk if you want to volunteer to help with one of our stalls during the day, including the time you will be happy to volunteer. You can read more about Labour's policies for a more equal society for LGBT+ people and all communities suffering discrimination and hatred at http://www.labour.org.uk/index.php/manifesto2017/a-more-equal-society
